How it's made: Blue checked aprons utilize the Itajime block technique where the apron is folded and sandwiched with blocks, then dyed in indigo to create a geometric pattern. Green striped aprons are done in Arashi Shibori where the apron is wrapped around a pole then dyed in a dark green dye vat to create an ombré stripe print.
